...Chantilly Lace had a pretty face and a ponytail hangin down...
...A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk...
...Make the world go round...
...Aint nothing in the world like a big eyed girl...
...To make me act so funny, make me spend my money...
...Make me feel real loose like a long necked goose...

Update on Lesson

Ok...so yesterday was another riding lesson and we did trot over some standards (jumps that are very low). I thought that was going to be the biggest highlight of the lesson for me but I was in for a surprise!

Things changed when the my lesson horse didn't want to go faster than a walk and I couldn't make her change her mind! :P lol. So Mrs. D. gave me her mount, THE PERCHERON! (refer to previous post and last picture) and told me to ride her.

Now this horse is MASSIVE! She's 17 H.H. high and absolutely HUGE (I know I already said that but if you would have seen her that would be all you could say ;))! Her hooves were the size of dinner plates! When I got on her from the mounting block I had to reach higher still to put my leg in the stirrup! She is really well trained and extremely gentle. If she did a wrong maneuver it wasn't her fault 'cuz I must have pushed the wrong "button". After the lesson (that went really good b.t.w.), we rode back to the barn and Mrs. D. gave the okay to dismount and let me tell you, getting off a 17 H.H. horse takes a while till your feet finally touch the ground! lol :D

Riding a big, tall, black horse made me decide that if I couldn't get a Fresian (another big, tall, black horse) I could be very satisfied with a Percheron. lol :) I'm already keeping an eye out for one. :D

Riding Lessons

As some of you may know, I have been taking English riding lessons at a christian ranch. For those of you who didn't know, I will give you a simplified version of my life of late. ;)
I have always had a dream to run a horse ranch and give lessons to kids--specifically at-risk children. I thought I wouldn't be able to even start till I was an adult, but God laid some things directly in my path that told me to get ready now! I already knew how to ride horse but the first thing I would need to know is how to give lessons to other people. So taking formal lessons myself would be the best way to go about it.
I found The Promised Land Ranch & Ministries over the Internet in July/August, but we were so busy at that time that I couldn't start taking lessons till after summer was over. So I impatiently waited... ;)
Finally in September, we were able to go there, take a tour, and talk about what kind of lessons I would need. Our schedule was still pretty busy at the time so I had to wait till October to begin the lessons. Now I am halfway through the six-week lesson program and loving every minute of it! :D ...sorry this one is so blurry...:P
My instructor is always teaching me ways to parallel spiritual things with situations that happen around the horses. The other two girls I ride with are lots of fun and we all learn from each other as well. Last week, we all oohed and aahed over the coolest and most "ginormous" (as one of the girls said) Percheron horse the 'Mrs. D' had staying at her place.

...Tabby got to sit on the Percheron...

I've gotta go get ready now, we are going to be jumping standards today!

First Snow of The Season!

Thank God it will melt right away but here's two pics of our first snow. It had gotten really cold and windy this past weekend and today, when we woke up, the ground was covered with snow. I hope we won't get anymore for at least a few more weeks. I am definitely NOT ready for winter! Anyways, enjoy the pics. :)
